Zsa Zsa Gabor was born 6 February 1917. She is also known as Sari Prinz von Anhalt, when her marriage to Frederic Prinz von Anhalt, a Hungarian American actress and socialite, but Miss Hungary in 1936. She emigrated to the U.S. in 1941. Car designer George Barris describes her as a sought after actress with European flair and style, with a personality that exuded charm and grace.
Her sisters, Magda and Eva, were also actresses and celebrities. The family was of Jewish descent, their mother, Jolie was a cousin of Annette Tilleman Lantos, the wife of California Congressman and Holocaust survivor Tom Lantos. Gabor maternal grandparents died in the Holocaust and biographies speculate that her paternal family were originally Jewish as well, but converted to Catholicism in order to assimilate.
